PART II – AN ANALYSIS OF ABIOTIC SAMPLES (NONLIVING ENVIRONMENT ARCTIC)
The thesis recognized the problem of polar regions pollution. In the theoretical part high-
lighted the persistent organic compounds present in the Arctic in the elements of inani-
mate nature. POPs anthropogenic origin may appear in the polar areas due to long range
atmospheric transport (LART) from areas of Eurasia and North America. The study of pol-
lution levels present in abiotic samples in the Arctic are the foundation for the monitoring
of the environment, so that it will be possible to take action to protect Arctic ecosystems.
