PART II. SYNTHESIS AND QUALITY CONTROL OF RADIOPHARMACEUTICALS
FOR POSITRON TOMOGRAPHY

In the case of most radiopharmaceuticals labelling β- emitting isotopes, the speed of their synthesis is the critical
factor. Synthesis of radiopharmaceutical should be fast as possible with appropriate efficiency due to short halt-life
of radioisotope. Complexation reactions are usually employed for the synthesis of radiopharmaceuticals labelled
with metallic isotopes. The quality control of the final product have to be performed before application for human
use. Determination of chemical and radiochemical impurities, sterility and chemical identity are usually done.
