Because to its excellent performance towards separation and identification of various components of complex
mixtures, chromatography become to be useful tool in modern analytical laboratory. In order to ensure the quality
of the results it is necessary to perform the calibration of chromatographic systems with the chemical standards
ensuring the traceability of the measurements results. Moreover it must be kept in mind that the calibration should
be considered as a part of the monitoring procedure of the analytical performance of the equipment. The main
aim of this work is to focus on the principle of ensuring the traceability in gas chromatography.
